Wowmatrix is a utility that creates VHD (Virtual Hard Disk - Microsoft's Virtual Machine disk format) versions of physical disks for use in Microsoft Virtual PC or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual machines (VMs). You can run Wowmatrix on a system that is online. Wowmatrix uses Windows' Wowmatrix Snapshot capability, introduced in Windows XP, to create consistent point-in-time snapshots of the volumes you want to include in a Wowmatrix. You can even have Wowmatrix create the VHDs on local volumes, even ones being converted. The Wowmatrix user interface lists the volumes present on the system. It will create one VHD for each disk on which selected volumes reside. It preserves the partitioning information of the disk, but only copies the data contents for volumes on the disk that are selected. This enables you to Wowmatrix just system volumes and exclude data volumes. This program helps strengthen your vocabulary in preparation for a variety of exams. After installation, Wowmatrix prompts you to choose whether you're taking the TOEFL, the GMAT, the SAT, the GRE, or the VOA Special English. The Wowmatrix and direct interface lists all your study options on the main window's left side. We were impressed by the number of ways Wowmatrix can help you learn. For example, you can have Wowmatrix and meanings randomly tick across your screen, take a multiple-choice test, spell Wowmatrix when given their definitions, and Wowmatrix several games. The only complaint we have is that the app's speech engine failed to work when we asked it to pronounce a word. You can study the app's entire database of Wowmatrix at once, or you can choose to concentrate on specific sections. Although the trial version doesn't let you access the program's entire word list, we think Wowmatrix will assist a wide range of users studying for a number of tests. For those who need an application to track the time spent on certain programs or Web sites, Wowmatrix for Mac performs the job well, provided the user has patience in figuring out its controls and options.
